Take advantage of all that South Florida has to offer… One staycation at a time!
I love vacationing but running my own business sometimes means I only have time for a one night quick getaway! Sometimes that getaway is only 30 minutes from my home. Luckily, living in South Florida has its perks and there are so many amazing hotels. While I could probably write a novel on all of them, here are 5 of my latest favorites!
The Dalmar,Fort Lauderdale
This is one of my new favorite spots. The Dalmar is a Tribute Portfolio hotel and is part of Marriott (hello Bonvoy members!). Everything about this hotel screams MILLENNIAL with the champagne vending machine, “insta-worthy” cocktails, rooftop bar, and even avocado toast! The Dalmar is located in the downtown area of Fort Lauderdale but they offer shuttles daily to the beach and they have reserved chairs and umbrellas, but to be honest you won’t want to leave the hotel. The rooftop pool is gorgeous and pristine but the rooftop bar, Sparrow, is my absolute favorite. Going up to Sparrow requires taking two elevators making the whole experience feel exclusive and once you are on the top floor you are greeted with vibrant decor and a DJ spinning the latest hits (do DJs even spin anymore? Is that a thing?). The outside bar cocktails are named by colors and the inside signature cocktails have fun names and a great presentation. The “Flipbook” is my favorite cocktail inside and the “Magenta” is my favorite drink outside. I could really write a whole article on this hotel!
Harbor Beach Resort & Spa, Fort Lauderdale
I consider this one a splurge. Located right on Fort Lauderdale beach. I have attended many events here including a wedding, and my high school homecomings each year (so bougie I know!). You can never be sick of this stunning resort with a full spa and watersports. They have so many dining options on property and even a Starbucks in the lobby (PSL please?). This hotel made my list because you don’t have to plan anything, just show up and relax!
An affordable and very stylish option! This hotel was practically designed with millennials in mind. It’s chic and there are plenty of places to take your next Instagram masterpiece. The AC Lounge has happy hour titled “Golden Hour” 6 days a week with drinks starting at $3 (HELLO bargain hunters). The “305 Potion” is my favorite cocktail and it comes to life with dry ice and fog, perfect for a boomerang on your next IG story. This hotel is steps from CityPlace Doral, which features Kings Bowling, the Improv Comedy Club, Cinebistro, Tap 42, Martini Bar, Cooper’s Hawk, and more! Put this one on your list!
Boca Raton Resort & Club, Boca Raton If you have cash to blow, blow it all here! It’s part of the Waldorf Astoria brand. The dining is to brag about and yes they have a Serendipity’s! Unlike other hotels, only guests and members can eat at the resort. For adventure seekers they have the Flowrider, surfing simulation. They also have seven resort pools, and of course a private beach. It’s okay to treat yourself to luxury sometimes!
Fontainebleau, Miami Beach If money isn’t an option, the ultimate Miami hotel is the famous Fontainebleau. Sure, some people say it’s overrated, but for some reason I just love it. The decor, the vibrance, the smell, it’s just all so grand. Seriously the minute you walk in you can smell the Fontainebleau. Whatever is pumping through the vents, it makes you want to spend money! LIV is a popular nightclub located inside this hotel and has hosted some of the biggest celebrities. You’ll rub elbows with A-list celebrities here, and sometimes a few Bachelor in Paradise Instagram celebs too (don’t roll your eyes, it’s true). The Jonas Brothers are hosting New Year’s Eve here… Do I even have to explain more? Fair warning, nothing comes cheap. Even a vodka soda will cost you close to $20, but YOLO.
